Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway Expansion Construction Documents
Alpharetta, Georgia -
Serving as the prime consultant and project landscape architects, The Jaeger Company led a multi-disciplinary design team in a $2.5 million greenway project for the City of Alpharetta. The project involved the design and permitting of an one mile greenway trail extension along Big Creek, which connects an existing greenway trail with office park developments and the larger pedestrian facility network. A long-lasting, safe and universally accessible facility was constructed through beautiful bottomland forest and wetlands. The project includes a new trailhead, a bike/pedestrian tunnel under a busy road, and a pedestrian bridge over Big Creek. Extensive hydrological modeling, design concepts and trail alignments were created and analyzed to minimize impact to  the wetlands and woodlands while providing an enjoyable and beautiful facility. This project was partially funded with Transportation Enhancement (TE) funds.

Greensboro Streetscape Master Plan & Construction Documents Greensboro, Georgia - Greensboro is one of Georgia’s most picturesque and historic communities and has prospered in recent years with major improvements in the downtown area, including a new streetscape. In part fueled by developments on nearby Lake Oconee, the town center is now lively with a range of shopping and entertainment offerings housed in the historic storefronts. The Jaeger Company (TJC) assisted the City of Greensboro in the design and implementation of a comprehensive downtown improvement program through two phases of construction. The new streetscape complements the historic character of downtown, facilitates easy access to its businesses and institutions, and makes the town center more conducive to pedestrian activities. The streetscape master plan specified sidewalk improvements utilizing the historic pattern of multi-colored hexagonal pavers, pedestrian amenities, and the development of off-street parking to replace former on-street spaces.  A canopy of native trees, selected for their appropriateness as historic species, as well as their sustainable characteristics, was returned to the town center. TJC also completed landscape and site improvements at the courthouse square, a major green space in the town center.

This state-of-the-art facility provides space for student activities, recreation, and meetings. Concurrently, with this construction project, TJC produced a Master Plan Concept for the reshaping of an existing open area of campus into a formal greenspace, identified in a 2003 Campus Master Plan as the Campus Oval. The new oval-shaped walkway, which surrounds a rolling open lawn, links various campus amenities including the new Campus Center, the academic quad and a major node of residential buildings.
